Remember those times you opened Pinterest and you got caught by a beautiful rust pin? Then you clicked on it and probably one led to another to another one until you realized that almost 4 hours have passed and you could not resist how inspiring these pictures were?

It is exactly what potentially could happen when you look at Raul Mishra's dresses from his haute couture collection for season spring-summer 2021 about these pictures of rust and mushrooms, sounds familiar huh? Yes, they were also referenced earlier in the same fashion week by the Dutch designer Iris van Herpen but this time Mishra is using them differently.

Raul Mishra is an Indian designer, first from his country to showcase in Paris fashion week, graduated from Marangoni institution in Milan then came back to India to start his brand and he now has 2 flagship stores one in Delhi and the other in Mumbai as he creates both luxurious sarees and couture dresses. For Mishra fashion is a form of self-expression and it has a lot to do with so many problems such as society, sustainability and the environment as he said in his previous interviews, that's why his source of inspiration for his collection "The Dawn" comes as no surprise.

"In nature, nothing is perfect and everything is perfect." - Alice Walker ‘The Dawn’ contemplates the state of environmental damage and imagines the world that shall live beyond the interference of the human species. He quoted on his website, The layers of the mushrooms tacked over the dresses stating the handmade skills and hand-embroidered beads and crystals layered on organza and tulle flower were a piece of heaven, you see the purity of nature in his calm colours, soft fabrics and small roses embellished on the top adding more interesting fine details to the garments.

The cocoon cape short blue dress has a very interesting shape and volume created by the layers of fabric tailored to identify the movement of the mushrooms and the tree bark trench coat has curved lines of embroidery that looks like waves bringing flowers on the sand-coloured base fabric creating this simultaneous effect. Moreover, there is also the daisy long cascade cape with white daisies all over layers of beige tulle with mushrooms contrasting between orange on the side and purple on the other side looks like the beautiful rust growing on old doors. The rest of the collection worth mentioning and promises us a very talented coming designer and tells us that we need to keep an eye on his upcoming creations.
